Mandy Trapp
Who are you?
I identify myself as a mindfulness teacher, business owner, mother, and wife. Ultimately, I’m a passionate multi-tasker and an advocate for people to empower themselves. While titles and roles can change, I've realized there are some aspects of who I am that have simply stayed the same over the years. The first is that I must have bare feet as much as possible, and it's always possible! The second is that I require a lot of alone time to be with my thoughts and my stillness. And the third is that I strongly protest engaging in any experience that doesn't inject a ton of joy, laughter or purpose into my life.
What is your purpose?
I have many depending on my roles and responsibilities, but for the sake of answering the great “Why am I here” question, I believe my purpose is to introduce people to the truth of who they really are. I want to empower them to make choices that would lead to a more sustainable fulfillment and happiness in their lives.
What does Shakti mean to you and how does it make you feel?
Besides the fact that each piece is absolutely stunningly beautiful, there is something truly magical to the way each piece is put together. I can't explain it but I honestly feel like a goddess with superhero powers each time I put a piece on!
Sarah is an incredible designer but more than that, I feel that the beauty and strength of who she is are imbued within each piece. Because of that, the energy of Shakti so strongly represents the most inspiring and divine feminine presence.
What is your spiritual driving force?
Love. Love… and the constant synchronicities that bring me to tears or into deep belly laughs each day. It's the universe's way of saying, "Hey girl, I've got you covered."
What inspires you?
Humanity. It's always the way that people come back together or pick each other up amidst hardship and crisis.
How do you want to leave a mark on the world?
The most important thing to me is that my three children felt deeply and unconditionally loved and as a result, who I am will live on through each of them.
What does liberation mean to you?
Dancing, swearing and using the "G" word (God, that is!) without any attachment as to how I will be received. I've spent too many years of my life crafting my actions and cautiously choosing my words - as if I needed to be someone particular to be liked and appreciated. With age, and a few big falls along the way, comes wisdom, and to me, wisdom is the most beautiful and freeing aspect to anyone seeking the greatest liberation available.
What is one thing you love about you?
I refuse to grow up.
What are some words of wisdom you live by?
This too shall pass. Nothing good ever stays. Nothing bad lasts forever. No need to get your undies in a knot.
What is the greatest gift you could ever give someone?
Peace. Even if it’s only for 30 seconds. I want to help them realize, “I am not my suffering” because if you can find your purpose while suffering, you’ll find an even greater meaning when you transcend the suffering.
